Our law office typically represents commercial and professional drivers and those drivers who are close to the negligent point suspension.  We also represent many drivers who are charged with misdemeanor crimes such as hit and run, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving and driving without a valid license. However, we are happy to represent all drivers who wish to retain legal counsel to assist them with the court process in defense of their infraction traffic citation to try and keep their DMV record clean or car insurance rates down.

Unfortunately, traffic defense is not a practice area taught in law school.  A lot of the knowledge of traffic defenses, strategies and tactics are developed by years of experience and passed on from other traffic attorneys.  I have been employed, worked as “of counsel” and been contracted to appear by several different traffic attorneys and traffic law firms in my early days as an attorney which provided me with valuable exprience.  I belong to traffic attorney listserves and go to mcle training specific for traffic defense. The knowledge I received with regard to different Vehicle Code sections, DMV points, commercial driver defenses over the years has been invaluable. Moreover, since I handle a lot of vehicle code crimes I am in traffic court more often than most attorneys and observe judges, procedures, and what defenses work and don't work by being there on a frequent basis.  

A high percentage of my infraction traffic cases are set for court trial or trial by declaration depending on the particular county court system.  Most of the time whenever you retain private legal counsel you do not have to appear in court which greatly helps a lot of my commercial drivers and out of state clients who wish to contest their case in trial without having to pay the substantial travel expenses for each court appearance. We charge flat fees on all our traffic matters.

I have been in the trenches as a commercial driver traffic attorney for many years.  This experience has given me a lot of knowledge on the various moving violations that affect truck drivers while they are on the road.  I am available to give presentation to local trucking companies and their drivers to explain some of the common California vehicle code laws that will put points on their driving record and likely increase their insurance rates. By explaining the law to them (which hopefully will be a refresher) they can avoid the moving violation in the first place and reduce their risks. My goal is to make elite drivers better informed and knowledgeable on the road with respect to traffic laws and safety. The talk will also cover serious traffic offenses and misdemeanor commercial violations, avoidance of a DUI in your personal or commercial vehicle, DMV negligent operator hearings and tactics, lidar, radar, visual estimation, trial by declarations and the basics of traffic court and what to expect.  I would love to help the local trucking companies in my community maintain the best DMV records possible and keep their insurance costs down through education and prevention.
